The NAF Association presented a webinar:
CFPA & Below Prime Auto Financing
July 21, 2010
When passed, the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 will create the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB). The webinar answered some of the questions the industry has about the powers the new bureau will have. What new obligations does the legislation impose on the below-prime auto financing business? What operational and compliance challenges can be expected? What kind of impact will the CFPB have on automobile dealer and customer relationships? How will it affect access to the capital markets?
Presenters Michael Benoit and Tom Buiteweg, partners at Hudson Cook, LLP, provided a platform for understanding the CFPB and its powers and an opportunity for participants to ask the questions.
